Feeling a little blue

Just got done reading about the children killed in the fire at the Mexican government run daycare.
So hard to understand how this happens. So many children in such poverty with no one to really look out for them. Parents in untenable situations needing to work to provide for them forced to use daycare centers that are really warehouses (literally in this case) for children. The Mexican government required all night clubs in Mexico city to ensure they had an additional exit for fire emergencies after several tragedies but they do not require the same for a daycare that care for hundreds of children?
Nothing to be done now of course other than to pray for the peace of the families that must be out of their minds with grief, but it seems to me that the Mexican government is not just terribly corrupt, but inept as well.
All the crazy Lou Dobbs folks wont like this at all, but the truth is that we are one continent and what happens there reverberates here. Canada, Mexico, the U.S. we are all one like it or not and maybe it is time to start sharing some resources as it is just a matter of time before that border blurs to a point of the ridiculous no matter what the minutemen try to do.

God is not pleased

I would love to see the shocked look on these horrid peoples faces when they find out they are not gong to heaven.
Evil Evil sorts who can rejoice in this mans death in a church. A husband and a father. I have so much anger and literal hatred for the Christianists of this country. So sure they are right that they think they can ignore the very tenants they claim to believe in.
They claim to be patriotic but throw aside the laws of our great country to execute a man, or at a minimum to hold up as a good man the one who murdered Dr. Tiller.
I am not against Christianity at all, just this hate filled, fire and brimstone kind that preaches the whole vengeance and eye for and eye, crap. Just a bunch of self absorbed people who are anything but Christian.
I believe in many things the Bible teaches, but think many of these zealots have twisted the Bible in some very obscene ways to justify their own personal views and opinions. I have read story after story about the women who desperately wanted their babies but found they would live only a painful and short existence of suffering and turned to this Dr. for help to insure that their child was spared never having a happy moment, never knowing a peaceful sleep or contented sigh. I am sad for all of those parents who are reliving their losses this week while listening to people who know nothing of their heartache condemn them, and the Dr. who helped them.

Iced coffee and a Tan

Just got back from CVS after getting a great deal.
Hubby needs a tan. He has been working nights for some time now and is Irish on top of it all so this morning I went and got all he needs to be motivated to sit out on the patio for a few.

Hawaiian Tropic Products, psa $7.89
Get $10 ECBs wyb 2 (limit 1)

$2/1 Hawaiian Tropic printable (register)
As low as $0.89 ea. after coupons and ECBs!

Maxwell House, 2/$4.89 (BOGO – limit 4)
$2/2 Maxwell House printable*
$1.45 ea. after coupons!

I actually bought sunscreen that was 8.99 instead of the 7.89 listed in the above deal.  If you have been to the CVS in the past week for any purchase, look at the bottom of your reciept and you will see a 4$ off a 20$ purchase coupon.
My total was 10.59$ OOP (25$ before coupons)but I got back a coupon for 10$ in register rewards and another 4$ off 20$ purchase so I made money buying these four products.
So wake up and get out in the sun:)

The View From Your Recession - The Daily Dish | By Andrew Sullivan

The View From Your Recession - The Daily Dish | By Andrew Sullivan

Shared via AddThis

Great Insight from a reader of the Daily Dish regarding just why the GOP is losing its grip. People NEED government right now and it is the private, deregulated, greedy sector that has driven them to the Blue side.

Roman Catholic Priestess???

I dont think so. What a whacko.
Could you imagine what could be done if these nuts put the same fervor into feeding our children or providing clean water to the world?
But no, lets protect the world from those dangerous "Gays". Maybe she should spend her time writing the Pope instead of President Obama anyhow since she is defying the laws of the Church and parading around as an impostor of the Church.

Read the whole story on Huffington Post here

Morning Star Farms

Another crazy deal. Just got done clipping the publix coupons I got when there this AM. In the turnstyle where the normal circular is there is a booklet of "summer" coupons, each has a morningstar farm coupon for 1$ off one. Get 2.

Like I said....

From an article posted on CNN.com Brent Wilkes is quoted as saying,

"If they just out of sheer ill-will ... try to block the nomination, that's going to have a big backlash in the Hispanic population," Wilkes warned. "And we won't have to do anything except sit back and watch them destroy themselves, because it's really going to be that bad."

Seems to me this is the MO of the GOP in general these days. Stupid choices and inexplicably suicidal moves are making them less and less relevant and more and more the party of the Palen-ites and other nut-jobs. Sadly, I think someone intelligent has put a gag over Michael Steele’s mouth this week so we may not be lucky enough to get a laugh out of his political ineptitude, but who knows, there are lots of other idiots out there ready to throw caution to the wind and put their well heeled feet in their mouths.

Rush is still fat...and still muttering the same crap.

You would think he could at least come up with some new lines or lift some more creative talking points from some Republican dweeb whose job is to sit in a room all day thinking up more eloquent ways to say foul things.
But no....the once very fat, then thin thanks to illiciet drug use,  fat once again talk show host isnt exactly creative enough to do such things so here is his take on Sotomayer :

"Do I want her to fail? Yeah. Do I want her to fail to get on the court? Yes. She'd be a disaster on the Court.

Do I still want to Obama to fail as President? Yeah, -- AP, you getting this?

He's gonna fail anyway, but the sooner the better here so that as little damage can be done to the country."-Rush Limbagh

SOTOMAYER GETS THE CALL!

Sonia Sotomayer has been nominated by President Obama to be the next Supreme Court Justice, fulfilling his promise to add diversity to the court in an effort to more appropriately resemble our nation.

The Republican loons will likely come out with all sorts of incoherent rhetoric about her temperament or other issues they have imagined to be relevant but it is not only a losing argument but a dangerous tactic considering her Hispanic roots. The GOP has been bleeding Hispanic support since Obama’s rise to the public stage and it has not gotten any better under Mr. "that’s how I roll" Steele. Tread carefully you Republican strategists lest you drive away the last vestiges of Latino (oh and LatinA) support you may still have a grip on. You can’t win this one, wouldn’t it just be better to rise above, pretend you are thrilled, and make some flowery statement about the progress of Latin/Hispanic Americans? Be pragmatic for Gods sake.
